GEORGE WAH SCHOLAR-LEADER-ATHLETE AWARDS DINNER

Established in 1962, the Delaware Valley Chapter of the National Football Foundation is intimately involved in amateur football in the Central New Jersey area.

The annual Scholar-Leader-Athlete banquet is the premier event for the chapter. Held in March, the dinner attracts over 250 football enthusiasts annually.

All of the high school students, decked out in donated tuxedos from Giovanni's Formal Wear, receive at least a $1,000 scholarship, with the top 5 SLAs receiving $5,000, $4,000, $3,000, $2,000 and $1,500, respectively.

Since the banquet's inception, over $1,200,000 has been given to date. Other awards presented during the evening are the Robert F. Casciola Distinguished American, George O'Gorman Contribution to Amateur Football, Hank Johns Coaches Award, Jack Millard Officials Award, Contribution to Youth Football, Delaware Valley Chapter Little Scholar, Tony Persichilli Meritorious Service Award, Nick Gusz Good Guy Award, Assistant Coaches Award, and the President's Chapter Award, given to a member who went above and beyond in his service to the chapter.
